Mr Manoj Sood has been practising Orthopaedic Surgery for 18 years and has been in Specialist Consultant practice for 10 years. After qualifying at Guys Hospital Medical School he undertook higher training at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) in Stanmore.
He was appointed Lecturer to the Professorial Unit at the RNOH training in complex and revision joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic surgery, ligament reconstruction and cartilage transplantation.
He undertook further Fellowship training in the UK and in two Centres of Excellence in North America, where he worked with internationally renowned surgeons. At the world famous Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, he worked with Dr Dan Berry and at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto he trained under Prof Alan Gross.
Mr Manoj Sood holds an NHS Consultant appointment specialising in hip and knee surgery and he leads a specialist hip and knee replacement and revision service and arthroscopic knee and hip surgery service.
Mr Sood has performed over 2,000 hip and knee replacements and over 200 revision hip and knee replacements. He also has a keen interest in Joint Preservation procedures for the hip and knee to prevent or delay the need for joint replacement surgery.
Mr Sood is active in teaching, clinical research and development of new techniques and surgical instruments. He has published and presented numerous research papers at national and international meeting and is a regular faculty member on post-graduate courses. He is also involved in the teaching of the next generation of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
