Cinzia is a chartered Clinical Psychologist
and senior lecturer on mental health and wellbeing
. She is qualified as a mindfulness teacher at the University of Bangor (North Wales, UK) and as CBT therapist at Oxford University. She is currently acting as the Clinical Director of The Mindfulness Project (UK).
Having received an education in Mindful Eating in Boston, USA, Cinzia is a member of the board of the Centre for Mindful Eating in the USA. Cinzia has a PhD in Human Factors in Health Care and obtained her Clinical Psychologist degree from the University of Urbino (IT). She currently lives in the UK, and has developed over the years a strong research interest around wellbeing and mindfulness in various health care settings. Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, eating disorders and wellbeing at work.
In her lecturer role, Cinzia teaches wellbeing and human factors in a post graduate medical school. She would like to see more focus on the delivery of compassionate health care within the medical training
and is very keen in developing new research evidence around the benefits of mindful eating
, especially in the UK where the literature is limited.
Cinzia currently works with patients with mood, anxiety and eating disorders. She treats them with an integrated approach of mindfulness and CBT under regular supervision
. Cinzia works with clients on a one to one basis in clinic locations around West and South-west London areas. She also works with clients by phone and via Skype. Additionaly, she runs mindfulness-based group courses once a week for corporates and non-profit organisations
. Finally, Cinzia manages a research project across the East of England region on Human Factors in health care settings.
Cinzia enjoys spending time with her family and has a strong passion for sport. She played volleyball professionally in Italy for over 15 years and is now a supporter of the UK team ‘Polonia Volleyball’
