Mr Eric Lim is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at the Academic Division of Thoracic Surgery of The Royal Brompton Hospital and Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, London, United Kingdom. He graduated from the University of Sheffield and received higher surgical training at Cambridge and London. He has a background of Biostatistics (MSc) and clinical research (MD).
Mr Lim's clinical interests are surgical diseases of the chest, bronchoplastic resections, airway reconstruction, extended resections for lung and mediastinal cancers and minimal access (VATS) lobectomy. His research on systematic reviews and clinical trials in thoracic surgery, surgical oncology, biomarker development and validation in lung cancer has been awarded national and international prizes.
Mr Lim has written two books and over 60 peer reviewed publications. He authored the British Guidelines on the management of lung cancer whilst serving as the Chair of the British Thoracic Society/Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery Radical Management of Lung Cancer 2010 Guidelines Committee.
Mr Lim's international profile and recognition is reflected in his leadership positions as Chair of the UK Thoracic Surgery Research Collaborative, Member of the Steering Committee of the British Thoracic Oncology Group, Panel member of the Intercollegiate Speciality Board in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Associate Editor of Thorax and Associate editor of the European Thoracic Oncology Platform.
