Dr Davar is a cardiologist at The Wellington Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead and an honorary lecturer at UCL, he specialises in non-invasive diagnosis and assessment of CAD, Valvular Heart Disease,Heart Failure, and Hypertension.
His earlier training was undertaken in Tbilisi and Moscow where he was the winner of the A.L Myasnikov Prize (1984) of Academy of Medical Sciences of USSR for his book 'Mitral Valve Prolapse'.
He then undertook a position at the Brompton Hospital and is now based at the Royal Free Hospital where he is the Lead Clinician for Valvular Heart disease, Carcinoid Heart Disease and Imaging (including Stress Echocardiography and CT Coronary Angiography).
His research interests include Non-Invasive Diagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease (Stress Echo- up to 1000 cases annually and CT Coronary angiography), Valvular Heart Disease including Carcinoid Heart Disease, Heart Failure including Chemotherapy Induced heart failure and Hypertension
