BIOGRAPHY

rench-born Marine, Founder and Director of Make Me Feel, has always had a fascination with medicine and the human body. She followed her passion by studying to become a doctor of Pharmacy, in Lyon.

After flying through her studies, she worked as a pharmacist in Paris, but within two years she wanted to experience working under a different healthcare system in another country, so moved to London. She soon got a job with Medicare Français in Earl’s court, where she managed the pharmacy department for two years. At the same time as working in the pharmacy, Marine had various other projects on the go. She did some consultancy work for La Maison Medicale in South Kensington– guiding French practitioners around the complex British healthcare system. She was also in charge of an anticoagulation clinic in New Cross, and created a Spa within Streatham Pharmacy, using French Caudalie products.

For the next few years, Marine managed three different community pharmacies, until she finally felt ready to go it alone with Make Me Feel, last year. She says, “after 10 years of wanting to run my own business, the opportunity came up for me to rent 25 Abbeville Road last April. It was the perfect location, so I took it and started work straight away”.

Marine clearly enjoys challenging herself and being busy, but what is the most rewarding thing about her work? She answers, “I’m fascinated with medicine, and love helping people, so Make Me Feel is perfect. It feels great when customers come back to tell me my advice worked.” Marine also loves where she works. She continues, “having lived in the area for four years, I know it well. I thought a parapharmacy would work well in Abbeville village, as it has a really strong community spirit. We have this word in French, “bienveillance” that translates roughly as goodwill, and I feel it here every day.”
