Mr Pramod Achan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, with specialist training in joint preservation, primary and revision joint replacement of the hip & knee, arthroscopy and minimally invasive surgery of the hip, soft tissue reconstruction of the knee including cruciate reconstruction and meniscal surgery, as well as treatment for cartilage defects including chondrocyte transplantation. He also specialises in early intervention of hip arthritis and impingement, hard bearing surfaces including ceramic and partial replacement of knee compartments, and hip replacement in neuromuscular disorders such as cerebral palsy in early adulthood, and management of infected joint arthroplasty.
Mr Achan's primary research interests are in trauma and outcomes in high energy trauma, and in basic science of early osteoarthritis and its intervention. He is Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of cancer, and involved with research at Queen Mary University, The William Harvey Institute and The Trauma Clinical Academic Unit.
