SPECIAL INTERESTS

Dr Gomes has a special interest in medical education and resource development, and is currently undertaking his thesis toward a Masters in Medical Education.  He was jointly responsible for developing the Emergency Department App, which allows rapid access to useful information, policies and guidelines at a tap. Dr Gomes organises the Emergency Department’s junior doctor’s induction and teaching programme. He developed and launched several clinical guidelines, observation and screening tools.

He is a link with surgical specialties and anaesthetics to develop pathways and policies to improve patient experience and journey during emergency care. He leads the Paediatric Emergency and Resus Group (PEAR Group) with the vision of standardising, maintaining and developing a high quality of care, innovation and education through Resus.

Dr Gomes is also the Paediatric Sepsis 6 champion for the Trust and leads on Paediatric Trauma.
