BIOGRAPHY

Key Dates

2009-today: private practice, integrative child psychotherapist.

Jan 2014-July 2015: Mayfiled Primary Schoool, Hanwell: Group Leader With B.A.S.E. Babywatching U.K. Classroom-based programme which increses children's empathy and sensitivity towards each other through the observation of a mother and her baby.

Her Philosophy

Mrs Afiouni works with a range of emotional and behavioural issues such as anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, social withdrawal, bullying, sleep problems etc…

Her aim is to offer a safe, non-judgmental and empathic space in which children and adolescents can express themselves and make sense of their difficulties.

Working through their emotions not only helps them feel better, but also has a positive impact on their learning and achievement at school.

Using the arts and play therapy, Mrs Afiouni help the children or the teenagers explore their issues in a non-threatening way, particularly useful for younger children. While the child is “having fun”, he is working through his difficulties and making sense of his experience.
